The new planetarium and telescope under construction at Northern Oklahoma College located in Enid Oklahoma, serves as the cornerstone of the astronomy department headed by Dr. Fritz Osell. The www.goodkarmadomes.com crew of Oklahoma City welcomes visitors May 21st through the summer to visit the planetarium dome, which will show the constellation's and other heavenly bodies in the dome via a “live” feed from the telescope. The new planaterium will be 50 feet in diameter, 29 feet high, and house the screen and projector for the “live” feed from the telescope. The nearby 16.5 foot Ash dome houses a permanently mounted Celestron 14-inch Schmidt-Casse grain telescope with a TeVue 4-inch refractor telescope mounted on top. “It will get you there!” Dr. Fritz said.

James Lynch; builder for www.goodkarmadomes.com, says “Bucky 'Buckminster Fuller' took the devine engineering of our creator and developed the math critical to building this super structure. I have taken the best building methods and practices from my 37 years of experience in construction. He considers himself 'The' leading authority on dome home construction and his plan designs and methods have been reviewed by: engineers from University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University-OKC campus, NASA, Harvard architects, and Norton Schmidt of Kansas City. Many engineer's from around the country call for his advice regarding domes.” Good Karma Domes are found world wide with current domes erecting this summer in Florida, Arizona, California, and New Jersey, with possibilties in Jamaca and Switzerland. More specifically, a 93 feet diameter church with two sister buildings in New Orleans, a bird Avery near Oklahoma City, and www.goodkarmadomes.com own show dome.

Good Karma domes will withstand winds in excess of 250 mph. Minimal code for a conventional house range from 115 mph in most areas to the strongest hurricane and tornado codes of 165 mph. Ask your local building code officials for your wind rating. We invite independent structural engineer's to review our methods and practices. Domes are self supporting structures, therefore, they do not require interior walls for structural support as with a conventional roof. This reduced amount of material needed equates to less impact on the environment. This reduced fire risk is a by product of the roof design because there is no inaccessible attic space. In conventional homes, fires congrigate in the super kiln dried inaccessible attic space. A firefighter's must manuever themselves between lower supporting walls and underneath or above the roof to fight the fire. This creates a very dangerous and inefficient strategy. Sustainability? Domes with little maintenance should last two to three hundred years. Instead of demolitioning an otherwise structural building, domes can be unbolted, moved and reerected, therefore, they are a great candidate for temporary and/or emergency housing. Good Karma Domes are very energy efficient by design, enclosing the most amount of area with the least amount of material, therefore, a smaller ratio of loss in heating and cooling. A good dome finished comparibly to a conventional house with the same square footage should cost 25 to 40 percent less to build and maintain.

James Lynch and www.goodkarmadomes.com are currently investigating and soliciting support for the establishment of an alternative “green” energy mall focusing on products strictly associated with “green” and “sustainable” construction. Cassie N. Gilman, special assistant for the Office of the Secretary of Energy for the State of Oklahoma is quoted as follows, “The Office of the Secretary of Energy are energized to collaborate with James Lynch and www.goodkarmadomes.com on the progression of this alternative energy mall.”
